The only time in my life that I’ve spent more than 5 minutes on makeup was in my 20’s when I was going out late to bars and clubs in Chicago. Back then, I would do it all. Foundation, bronzer, blush, highlighter, eyeliner, eyeshadow, eyelash curler, mascara, and more. But once I had kids, I rarely felt that spending more than 5 minutes on makeup was worth it. Absolutely no judgement if you still love to do a full face, but it’s not for me. That being said, age has changed my face. While I spent many years not thinking twice about running errands with a bare face, now that I am approaching 40, I prefer to have a little something on when I’m out and about.
I have figured out that these 5 products do enough for me to feel put together without feeling like I’m spending too much time or money:

1. Foundation
My favorite is Maybelline FIT. It has a cult following for a reason. I like the matte and poreless version, but they have a dewy version as well. It gives enough coverage without being heavy, has a ton of shades, and is super affordable.

I don't know why it makes such a big difference, but I just look more put together with a little bit of brow pencil. This one from Cover Girl has a slightly creamy pencil side, and the other side has a brush to blend it.

3. Blush
I will forever be loyal to NARS infamous shade, "Orgasm." It's simply perfect.

4. Mascara
I have paltry little pale lashes, and I like the oomph! that Lash Stiletto provides. It adds lots of length and definition. However, it's difficult to remove.

I am super picky about what I put on my lips. I don't like anything sticky, and most scents put me off. This one is soft and subtle, with just the right amount of color.
